One of my favorite authors, CS Lewis, once said:

Maybe you’ve never produced music or baptized anyone, but I think we can still be friends since I'm pretty sure you and I still have something in common: YOU'RE SCREWED UP!

I know I just insulted you/us, but keep reading!

Truth be told, some of my greatest life stories capture "Heck yeah!" successes, but most of my experiences include “What did I just do?!” failures. It makes sense though. Somewhere along the way I bought into the idea that failure doesn’t have to be permanent.  Failure is merely a learning opportunity and brings you one step closer to getting it right. It is for this reason that failure has led me to some of my sweetest victories.

“Friendship is born at the moment when one man says to another 'What! You too?'”

If you look close enough, every story from the past provides a learning opportunity for the future. My life mission statement is this:

There's a lot of leaders out there, but I've discovered that about 90% of them aren't worth following. Become a leader worth following. You may figure out how based on trial and error… OR you can learn from the past experiences of others so you can leapfrog over their failures and gain insight from their wins.

Let's play leapfrog.

It's not that I believe I have mastered any of my passions, but I have found a leader worth following: Jesus. I invite you to join my journey as I continue to explore and apply what I have learned from the greatest leader of all time. Simple and small action steps will not only help you become a leader worth following, but a leader who IS followed. Let's do this.

“To inspire and equip others to become leaders who are worth following.”

My hope is that you can take simple and small action steps based on each blog post that will help you become a better leader. You’ll be amazed at how far you can go by taking one small step at at time.

ABOUT

Protected Schools exists to simply protect schools. Our desire is to help ensure kids of all ages can get the education they need while maintaining a safe environment. While state legislation can notoriously move really slowly, Protected Schools strives to move quickly, efficiently and safely in partnership with private and public school boards to respond to the growing threats of school violence. Whether you're a board member, principal, head of school, or parent, we would love to come alongside you and your community to build safer schools to ensure a better tomorrow.

MISSION

There are approximately 7,000 private schools throughout the United States. It is our mission to provide industry-leading security for every private school in the United States by the year 2030. We plan to do this with board, school and parent partnerships as well as private donors.

SCHOOLS

Protected Schools is willing to partner with any individual school or district. While state legislators have been arguing for years about the best way to protect kids in schools, kids keep dying due to senseless violence. Protected Schools is ready to move forward with a solid, safe strategy to help schools that have the capability of independently making decisions without needing state approval.

STRATEGY

We partner with schools, parents, and private donors to help provide free armed guards and other security measures for schools.

We employ the following 3-part strategy in our mission to protect schools.

STEP 1: FUND

A major problem with schools hiring their own security guards is lack of initial and/or ongoing training. We train our guards with industry-leading security tactics and measures. Each guard goes through an extensive background and mental health check to ensure they are fit for duty.

STEP 2: TRAIN

As soon as we have funding and board approval, we will deploy an armed guard as quickly as possible to any school that has been approved in the application process.

STEP 3: DEPLOY
